This toy is fun and also educational. The toy helps your child develop such skills as motor skills, attention concentration, counting skills, and patience. Lacing toys is really fun but it is not an easy task. Toddlers could find it challenging to shoot the strings in the holes. It can also be a little bit frustrating when the string gets caught (because it already got tangled).
The simultaneous use of toddlers' hands and eyes as they insert the tip of the string into the holes improves their eye-hand coordination.
By using the index finger and the thumb to grasp the tip of the string, toddlers are building their pincer grip.
To be able to do lacing, toddler have to concentrate so they can be able to shoot the string into the lacing toy holes. Concentration is highly needed to complete this task.
Pincer grip is gained by being able to hold objects between the thumb and another finger. It is considered an essential fine motor skill.
